Pueblo, CO -- A man was arrested in Pueblo for a hit-and-run that occurred Monday morning.
Jeremy Molina, 31, was taken into custody for unlawful possession of a controlled substance seven hours after fleeing the scene of an accident.
Police suspect that Molina was driving a stolen truck at about 4:15 a.m. around the 400 block of Michigan Avenue. When an officer responded to a report of a truck with a loud exhaust, the driver fled.
The truck veered into the westbound lanes of West Fourth Street Bridge heading east and hit a sedan while turning near the Midtown Shopping Center.
The female driver of the sedan and her 6-year-old child suffered serious injuries. They were flown to hospitals in both Denver and Colorado Springs.
The truck also had a female passenger who was seriously injured. Her connection to the suspect is not known at this time. Molina fled the scene of the accident on foot, according to investigators.
Police anticipate that there will be multiple criminal charges filed against Molina, who was recently released from prison and is on parole. An investigation of the crash is ongoing.
