Colorado Springs, CO -- A crash between a motorcycle and a Nissan on Wednesday evening left a woman dead and the motorcycle driver seriously injured.
The collision occurred around 6:00 PM at the intersection of Austin Bluffs Parkway and Oro Blanco Drive. The Nissan was traveling west on Austin Bluffs Parkway and attempted to turn left onto Oro Blanco Drive. The motorcycle hit the Nissan as it was turning.
The Colorado Springs Police Department identified the deceased as Marion Scott, who was riding in the Nissan. She was 62 years old and died at the crash scene. Three other individuals riding in the Nissan did not sustain injuries in the collision.
The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities have provided no update on the motorcyclist’s condition.
Although no crash cause has been determined, the Colorado Springs Police Department said speed and impairment are considered potential factors. The investigation remains open.
